This post is about my trip to New York. This trip is one of the most randomest thing

 I have done throughout my life. It started when I decided to not go anywhere this Spring Break because I want to save up money. Then, one fine sunny bright day (hehe), Misha decided to let go her ticket to NYC which she bought in last winter break for only 10$. Its a return ticket and its a very good deal right? The normal price can go up to 60-70$. 

In just a couple minutes of consideration, me and Delin accept the challenge and bought the ticket which is the day before the actual date. and there we go, with just a backpack of an overnight change, one mineral water, animal crackers, nuttela and Al-Quran (ehem2). Its a two day one night trip and we think we should be ok. And we did! We survive in New York City. Riding on their Subway and all. It was a very very very very fun trip. MashaAllah.

So here I am, writing some tips to survive New York (mainly Manhattan)  for my friends or maybe future me  :D

1. Food

Food is MashaAllah, very easy. At first we thought it will be very difficult to find halal and cheap food and that explains why we brough animal crackers and nutella. But little we know that you can just find Halal food on the satll by the road. There is a lot of stall along almost avenue. and there you can find halal food like kebab, beriyani, philly beef steak and all. So its very convenient plus its quite cheap too. Its around 5$ each food. (considering its not easy to find halal meat, so this is a bargain)

2. Transportation

You dont have to worry about the transportation. They have a huge range of public transportation. From subway to bus. But you must really know where do you want to go. I would recommend you to download the New York App in your mobile so that you can just type in your destination and they will list the subway you should use. The subway is quite confusing because they have so many lane and uptown and downtown. You can also use google map to find the direction. but you should be ok. to think again, how me and delin survive without getting lost in the subway is quite a miracle. haha. But we do get confused at the port authority though(its like KL Sentral). Port authority is the main station connecting all the inter states and city public transportation. Mind you, they have more than 400 gates!!! (gates ala2 LCCT/KLIA tu). 

You can get the subway card and top it up when it's not enough. I think its around 2.50$ per ride. 

I would suggest you to just walk if its just a few streets differece, because it's cheaper(kami mmg cari yang cheap2 je) plus, you got to see the beauty of the city. Like really feel the type of walking that we always see on TV. Jalan sesak2 ramai orang. Surrounded by branded shop(esp in 5th Avenue.omg. Rasa nak nangis masa berjalan sbb excited sngt mcm dlm movie)  roads filled with yellow taxi. Very very the New York la orang kata. haha.

3. Accommodation

This the part where we have trouble with. Since this is a very impromptu trip, so we have not decided where to sleep. At first, we want to sleep at the Masjid (Manhattan alone have more than 40 Masjid ok!) . Hotel is quite pricey. Even the motel is about 100$ per night. We surely doesn't want to spend that much on hotel since we just want a place to sleep, and we will check out early in the morning. Alhamdulillah, Allah sends us angels. Hehe. Kak Auni helped us to find a place in her friend's house. She's a Malaysian who is studying in Stevens's Institute of techology buy she lives in Hoboken, New Jersey. So we

 take a bust to Hoboken and that Kakak pick us up :D 

5. Place of Interest

New York has a lot of  interesting place. But me and delin just go to 'admission free' place. hehe. Jimat. But still, we went to so many places. Lemme summarize the places that we managed to visit here. 

1. Grand Central Terminal- its like an old antic but still operating train station. Architecture menarik. Kami pergi sebab popular kot. Banyak movie berlakon kat situ. 

2. Central Park. No words can describe this. Awesome place, beautiful scenery. Macam bukan dalam city. pastu tengok the new yorker punya life, they jog petang2, bawa anjing jalan2. and suddenly, semua orang kat situ kelihatan seperti artis. jadi nampak handsome and jelita je semua. classy gitu. hahaha. over kan.  Very very big! kalau tak larat jalan, terus pergi ke Mall dia. Kat situ la banyak orang berlakon. cerita Enchanted pun berlakon kat situ. 

3. City Hall- This is like their Capitol. Very pretty, but we went there at night, so tak nampak sangat. But we determine to go here because dalam brides war, the actress berebut nak kahwin kat situ la. 

4. Times Square- Menarik sebab macam amazed dengan sekeliling yang sangat busy. pergi waktu malam better sebab lebih nampak cahaya dan kesibukan kota. Kat sini la kalau nak beli souvenir. 

5. 5th Avenue- Basically semua avenue lebih kurang sama ke grand-an dia, tp yang ni macam lebih menark sebab ada trump tower, pastu ada cathedral apa ntah. Kat sini bolehla jalan bajet2 confession of shopaholic tu, memang branded shop berderet. 

6. Top of the rock- ini adalah satunya satunya tempat berbayar yang kami masuk. admission fees dia 28$. Top of the rock ni boleh naik sampai tingkat 69, 70 and 71 of the rockafella tu. tingkat 70 and 71 tu open air, so boleh nak bergambar berbackgroundkan cNew York City and Empire State Building.

7. Empire State Building- We didnt go to this place though I really want to go. Impak tengok HIMYM la ni. But really, Empire State and Top of the rcok is like a substitute good. pergi either one pun dah ok. Sebab basically both of them adalah untuk tengok NYC. But maybe Empire State lebih glamour sebab banyak movie ada bangunan tu kan. 

8. Ground Zero/ World Trade Center.  Ini juga free tapi kami tak dapat masuk sebab pergi lepas pkol 6ptg. ia dah tutup. Tapi kami dapat tengok la tempat World Trade Center yg tengah redevelopment tu. Twin tower tu kami ambil gambar dari seberang sungai Hudson(sungai yg bnyak juga pengambaran berlaku)
